On the 11th, the UK Ministry of Defence unveiled a strategic initiative to establish an AI combat laboratory. The primary objective of this endeavor is to effectuate a comprehensive overhaul of the army's training apparatus through the implementation of long-term defense contracts. Furthermore, the initiative aims to revolutionize exercise paradigms by harnessing intelligent technologies, thereby effectively countering the dynamic and evolving threats prevalent in contemporary battlefields. The project is earmarked with a substantial budget of £2 billion (equivalent to approximately RMB 18.2 billion) and will be undertaken collaboratively by a consortium of domestic defense enterprises. These entities will be responsible for the research, development, and ongoing maintenance of the laboratory, thereby fostering the growth of ancillary industries and bolstering local technical employment. In addition to these efforts, a youth technology apprenticeship program has been instituted to facilitate technical job placements for former military personnel.
