AI Image Recognition: Far from Infallible! Recently, several incidents have been reported across various regions where individuals have utilized AI image recognition technology to ascertain the edibility of wild mushrooms, only to suffer from poisoning after ingestion. In some severe cases, children have been rushed to the intensive care unit (ICU). Health authorities caution that AI image recognition merely compares visual characteristics and lacks the capability to detect toxins. Furthermore, its accuracy is compromised by factors such as lighting conditions and shooting angles during the image capture process, often resulting in erroneous identifications. Additionally, AI systems may exhibit a propensity to align with users' subjective expectations, thereby exacerbating the associated risks. Consequently, when it comes to matters concerning personal safety, one should never place exclusive reliance on AI's assessments.
