At the 2026 Ecosystem Conference, Alipay revealed that its innovative ‘Tap-to-Pay’ feature has now exceeded 400 million users. This service spans more than 30 million offline payment touchpoints and has forged partnerships with over 2,300 ecosystem collaborators. Looking ahead, Alipay plans to ramp up technological and product innovation, with a particular emphasis on expanding its Agent service network in 2026. This move aims to fuel AI-driven enhancements for offline payment experiences. Launched in June 2024, ‘Alipay Tap’ allows users to make payments effortlessly by simply tapping the blue ring icon—no need to open the Alipay app.
