Eight departments, including the Ministry of Commerce, jointly released the Implementation Opinions on Accelerating the Development of 'AI + Consumption.' Focusing on enhancing the application of artificial intelligence in both goods and service consumption, the Opinions propose 17 specific measures aimed at promoting the widespread adoption of AI in thousands of households and businesses, meeting the people's needs for a better life. The Opinions address structural issues in AI applications, such as 'products without markets' or 'demand without supply,' by targeting both supply and demand. In terms of goods consumption, the Opinions propose expanding the supply of smart terminals, driving the transformation of consumer electronics into intelligent devices, and exploring new markets for humanoid robot consumption to accelerate the transition of robots from industrial to consumer settings. Additionally, they call for establishing platforms for product launches to facilitate consumer access to new products and creating a fully integrated ecosystem for 'people, vehicles, and homes.' This involves integrating AI with cutting-edge technologies like brain-computer interfaces and augmented reality to develop internationally leading new products. In terms of service consumption, the Opinions outline several practical measures for five key areas: home-based services, elderly care, cultural and tourism, accommodation and catering, and education. These include incorporating smart home and service applications into guidelines for 'high-quality housing,' guiding elderly care service institutions to adopt AI technologies for information management and intelligent security systems, equipping them with smart care and rehabilitation robots, and enhancing the convenience of hotel services for international visitors.
