Fortunately, Novo Nordisk did not store consumer information within the compromised systems, thus sidestepping the potential hazard of consumer data breaches. Nevertheless, the breach has inflicted substantial damage upon the company. The pilfered data encompasses multimodal AI models, exclusive training datasets, the full source code, and training logs—all pivotal elements underpinning Novo Nordisk's drug research and development blueprint.

The perpetrator, purportedly the notorious FulcrumSec group, has expressed intentions to dismember and peddle the data on the black market following their failed attempt to extort a $25 million ransom from Novo Nordisk. In response, Novo Nordisk has swiftly initiated an internal investigation and implemented a slew of security protocols to mitigate the fallout from the incident. Simultaneously, the company is methodically working towards reinstating the functionality of the affected systems.
