On June 17, WeChat Pay formally introduced the 'AI-Specific Card', a payment solution tailored exclusively for AI agent-based transactions and seamlessly embedded within WeChat Balance. This innovative card allows users to articulate their consumption needs during interactions with AI agents, offering a fully automated purchasing journey—from intelligent product recommendations to order placement and payment processing. Presently, the AI-Specific Card has been integrated with Tencent's desktop office efficiency AI agent, WorkBuddy, enabling users to access Meituan services directly through the platform. There are also plans to extend this functionality to additional AI agent platforms in the near future. To utilize this feature, users can activate the 'Meituan Life Assistant' on the 'Expert' page within WorkBuddy, where the AI agent curates product suggestions based on individual preferences. Once the AI-Specific Card is bound and topped up, users can finalize purchases on their mobile devices, with payments being deducted directly from the card to complete the transaction.
