Back in 2011, the Notification Center made its debut in Apple's iOS 5, adopting a swipe-down-from-the-top-of-the-screen gesture that has since become second nature to users over the past 15 years. However, with the arrival of iOS 27 and iPadOS 27, this familiar gesture has undergone a significant change. After activating the new Siri AI feature, the original swipe-down gesture is now designated for summoning Siri AI. To access the Notification Center, users must now swipe down from the top-left corner of the screen instead. This adjustment underscores Apple's strategic emphasis on Siri AI, elevating it to a cross-platform, all-encompassing AI assistant that is deeply woven into its diverse range of hardware offerings. Moving forward, a comprehensive AI ecosystem is poised to become the focal point of Apple's system updates. It's worth noting that, for the time being, users in mainland China are unable to access Siri AI and its associated new features.
