On June 8th, Alibaba unveiled a strategic reorganization, integrating its Tongyi Large-Scale Model Business Unit with the Future Life Lab to create the Token Foundry Business Unit. This new entity will operate under the direct supervision of Group CEO Eddie Wu Yongming. The restructuring encompasses several AI-centric operations.
Zhou Jingren has been appointed as Alibaba's Chief AI Scientist and will helm the establishment of the AI Future Research Institute. This institute is dedicated to pioneering and achieving breakthroughs in cutting-edge AI technologies. In parallel, Zheng Bo will oversee teams from Happy Horse and Happy Oyster, among others, as they transition into the Token Foundry Business Unit.
