OpenAI recently hosted a press conference titled ‘AI’s Role in the Workplace’ and announced the launch of its Codex workflow plugin. This innovative tool is tailored for a wide range of professional roles, including stock investment and creative design, with the goal of enabling AI to integrate more seamlessly into the daily operations of businesses and take on a greater share of knowledge-based tasks. To date, Codex boasts over 5 million weekly active users, with 20% of them being non-programmers. Notably, enterprise revenue now makes up 40% of OpenAI’s total income.
The six newly released role-based plugins span multiple industries, such as data analysis, creative production, sales, product design, stock investment in publicly traded companies, and investment banking. These plugins incorporate 110 professional skills and can interact with 62 external applications, significantly boosting work efficiency for professionals in specific roles. Additionally, OpenAI has introduced two new interactive features: ‘Annotations’ and ‘Sites.’ In the coming weeks, Codex will be integrated into ChatGPT, with plans to develop and launch more plugins specifically designed for industries such as finance and law, further leading the charge in transforming the workplace.
