At the Google I/O 2026 keynote event, the Vice President of Products at Google Labs introduced the innovative application of Gemini Spark. This digital assistant operates around the clock, automatically scanning users' inboxes, summarizing and responding to emails, and sending timely reminders. Spark stands out for its seamless cross-app integration, boasting a 'Skills' system that empowers users to tailor task logic and access diverse facets of their data. Moreover, it can share information with third parties when needed. Presently, Spark is in the experimental phase and will initially be available exclusively to AI Ultra subscribers. Despite facing stiff competition, particularly from OpenAI Operator, Google capitalizes on its ecosystem advantage. Spark can directly access data stored on Google's servers, eliminating the need for users to grant permissions individually. This move could potentially reduce the potential user base for OpenClaw and Operator.
