Recently, Singapore has entered into artificial intelligence (AI) cooperation agreements with both Google and OpenAI. This strategic move is designed to cement Singapore's standing as a premier global AI hub and to expedite the integration of AI across various domains, including public services, healthcare, education, and the corporate landscape. Under the terms of these agreements, Google is set to initiate a 'National AI Partnership.' Meanwhile, OpenAI has inked its inaugural memorandum of understanding and has outlined plans to establish its inaugural AI laboratory outside of the United States in Singapore. This venture will involve an investment exceeding SGD 300 million (roughly equivalent to USD 234 million) and the recruitment of over 200 professionals, with a focus on pivotal sectors such as education, finance, and healthcare.
