Google plans to introduce Pics, an AI design and image generation application for Google Workspace, at the 2026 I/O Developer Conference. This application aims to lower the barrier to professional design and enter the AI-driven design market. Pics introduces a bidirectional interaction mechanism, solving the challenge of precise local modifications in generative AI images. It is powered by the Nano Banana2 model, enhancing multiple capabilities and supporting cross-application visual collaboration. Currently, Pics is available to select testers and is scheduled to be rolled out to Google AI Ultra subscribers this summer. This move will fill the gap in Google's office automation ecosystem regarding visual design, signaling a period of technological dividends for large model application layers in office asset control and collaboration.
