NVIDIA is making aggressive strides in investing within the artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem. During the initial months of 2026, the company has funneled over US$40 billion in equity investments into AI companies, with a significant portion—US$30 billion—going to OpenAI. Additionally, NVIDIA has officially declared seven investments, each worth billions of dollars, in publicly traded companies. In 2025, NVIDIA executed 67 venture capital deals and, by 2026, had taken part in over twenty financing rounds for unlisted start-ups. These frequent investments in partner clients have sparked outside speculation about potential circular investment practices. Nevertheless, Matthew Bryson, an analyst at Wedbush Securities, argues that even if these investments could be classified as circular, a successful investment strategy will ultimately assist NVIDIA in constructing a formidable competitive advantage.
