The landscape of AI role-playing is undergoing a transformative shift, transitioning from mere text-based dialogues to captivating immersive dramas. In a groundbreaking move, Zhejiang University, in partnership with Tencent YouTu Lab, has introduced the AdaMARP (Adaptive Multi-Agent Role-Playing) framework. This innovative framework is designed to tackle prevalent issues in large language models during role-playing scenarios, such as a lack of environmental awareness and stiff narrative delivery.

The AdaMARP framework stands out by employing a 'four-channel message format.' This format seamlessly integrates environmental atmosphere, inner thoughts, and body language, thereby enriching the role-playing experience. Additionally, it boasts a 'scene manager' equipped with five core functions, including the crucial initialization process. To further support this framework, the research team has meticulously constructed the AdaRPSet and AdaSMSet datasets, and introduced the AdaptiveBench evaluation system.

This pioneering innovation paves the way for deeply immersive interactions, propelling AI towards becoming digital performers capable of captivating audiences with their nuanced and lifelike portrayals.
