Astrocade, a U.S.-based AI-driven social gaming platform, has officially declared the successful conclusion of its Series A+B funding round, amassing a substantial $56 million. This funding round saw Sequoia Capital taking the lead in Series B, while Sea Capital spearheaded Series A. Other notable investors, including NVIDIA, also joined in the investment endeavor. The core feature of the platform revolves around "games generated through natural language," empowering users to prompt the AI with a mere sentence, which then automatically crafts a game. Furthermore, the platform boasts a feed-based community, cultivating a distinctive "create-as-you-play" model. A mere eight months post-launch, Astrocade has already garnered millions of monthly active users, boasting over 140 million gameplay sessions each month, with creators hailing from more than 80 countries. Renowned AI expert Fei-Fei Li from Stanford University holds the position of Chief Science Officer. Looking to the future, Astrocade aims to merge world models with generative AI technology to further diminish the barriers to game development. Its ultimate goal is to construct a gaming content platform that welcomes universal participation, enabling everyday individuals to effortlessly delve into game creation.
