On April 28, reports indicated that the Outline of the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development in Guangdong Province has been unveiled, outlining a strategic focus on cultivating intelligent core industries. Centered on fundamental software and pivotal technologies—including intelligent operating systems, development frameworks, advanced training and reasoning chips, and edge computing chips—the plan aims to foster competitive software and hardware products and foster digital industry clusters.
Simultaneously, it propels the research, development, and commercialization of industrial, service, and specialized robots, as well as general-purpose intelligent high-end products. It accelerates the progress of intelligent connected vehicles, establishes testing zones, and constructs vehicle-road coordination infrastructure. Moreover, the plan seeks to broaden the market for consumer-oriented intelligent products, enhance the capabilities of public service-oriented intelligent products, innovate in the categories of industry-specific intelligent products, develop high-end intelligent terminal products, and nurture industrial clusters for intelligent terminals and equipment.
Furthermore, the plan emphasizes strengthening intelligent agent collaboration and large-scale deployments, driving comprehensive transformation through AI-native methodologies. It leverages innovation centers in the fields of intelligent agents and intelligent terminals to support the establishment of the Guangdong Provincial AI Innovation Center.
