South Korea has inked a deal with Google to set up the world’s inaugural AI campus in Seoul. This initiative is designed to spur teamwork between Google and local South Korean engineers, as well as budding startups. South Korean President Lee Jae-myung held discussions with Demis Hassabis, the CEO of Google DeepMind, culminating in the signing of a memorandum of understanding by both entities. The South Korean delegation put forth a request for Google to assign a minimum of 10 engineers from its U.S. headquarters to the campus. In response, Hassabis indicated that this proposal would be given due consideration. This campus marks Google’s maiden venture of this nature on a global scale and signifies a pivotal move in expediting its worldwide AI ecosystem strategy (in this context, it can be interpreted as "deployment" or "strategic layout").
