In light of the growing concern over users leveraging AI-generated or software-altered fake images to unjustly secure refunds during e-commerce after-sales transactions, Taobao and Tmall have taken a significant step forward. They have officially rolled out an AI-powered fake image detection model tailored for after-sales services, accompanied by the launch of an AI fake image feedback channel. This cutting-edge model harnesses the most recent advancements in AI-generated image detection technology from Alibaba's Security Team, ensuring accurate detection of a wide array of fake images. This includes images that are entirely generated by AI, authentic images modified by AI, and images bearing software watermarks.
The model is seamlessly integrated into key processes such as dispute resolution, refund evaluations, and merchant appeals, thereby establishing a robust and all-encompassing safeguard system. Merchants can now conveniently right-click on images suspected of being fake within Qianniu Wangwang chats, opt for 'Report Fake After-Sales Evidence,' and submit their report with a single click by specifying the relevant order and scenario. Upon the platform's AI confirming an image as fake, the outcome will directly impact the dispute resolution process and promptly notify the merchant. At present, this functionality is primarily accessible to merchants boasting store ratings of 4.8 or above, with intentions to progressively extend its availability to a broader merchant base in the near future.
