On March 31, 2026, Alibaba's Tongyi Lab announced that the AgentScope team officially released CoPaw version 1.0. This version, developed in collaboration with over a hundred contributors from the open-source community, achieves a comprehensive upgrade across four key dimensions: custom small models, security mechanisms, multi-agent collaboration, and memory management. The new version supports localized deployment, allowing for one-click installation and operation on Mac, Windows, or Linux systems. It also introduces the CoPaw-Flash series of small models, specifically tailored for CoPaw scenarios, offering various sizes and quantization versions with automatic recommendations based on device performance. In terms of security, CoPaw 1.0 adopts a layered defense architecture, including 'Tool Guardian,' 'File Protection,' and 'Skill Scanner,' effectively mitigating potential security threats. Additionally, the new version enhances multi-agent collaboration capabilities, supporting the creation of multiple isolated agent workspaces within the same instance, enabling parallel operation, independent configuration, and asynchronous communication and collaboration. The memory management function is driven by the ReMe mechanism, employing a layered strategy to manage contextual information and long-term memory, balancing dialogue coherence and processing efficiency.
