Meta Platforms (Meta), the parent company of Facebook, has declared its acquisition of Moltbook, a social platform tailored exclusively for artificial intelligence agents. The founders of Moltbook, Matt Schlicht and Ben Parr, are set to become part of Meta's Advanced Intelligence Lab, with their anticipated commencement date being March 16. The precise financial details of this transaction have not been divulged by Meta. Moltbook, which was launched in late January, resembles Reddit and swiftly emerged as a central hub for pertinent discussions. The CEO of OpenAI once remarked that its underlying technology embodies a future direction, and OpenAI has also recruited the creator of OpenClaw. Nevertheless, Moltbook is not without its challenges; cybersecurity firm Wiz had previously highlighted substantial design flaws that could potentially result in information leaks, although this concern has since been addressed.
