On March 10, nine departments, spearheaded by the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Jiangsu Province, jointly issued the Action Plan for the Innovative Development of the Brain-Computer Interface Industry in Jiangsu Province. The plan underscores the importance of developing high-performance brain-computer interface products, enhancing the synergy between core hardware components like sensors, chips, and batteries, and software systems. It advocates for the advancement of products towards intelligence, lightweight design, high-speed operation, and low power consumption.
In the realm of industrial manufacturing, priority will be given to the development of wearable brain state monitoring devices, brain-controlled equipment and robots, and safety early warning systems. In the medical and healthcare sector, the focus will shift towards brain disease diagnosis and treatment devices, including implantable neuromodulation devices and minimally invasive interventional brain-computer systems, as well as specialized rehabilitation training devices tailored for stroke and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis patients. In the consumer market, consumer-grade products such as sleep monitoring and intervention tools, attention training aids, and brain-controlled smart home devices will be developed to cater to the growing demand.
Furthermore, the plan outlines a strategy to regularly identify and showcase typical cases that boast advanced technology and yield significant outcomes. These cases will be recommended for national typical case evaluations. The ultimate goal is to recognize and highlight no fewer than 30 brain-computer interface products that embody the spirit of 'three pioneers and two innovations' by the year 2030.
