Microsoft is set to launch the Microsoft 365 E7 package in May, priced at $99, which seamlessly integrates the Copilot AI add-on, AI agent management tools, and employee identity management tools. The CEO of Microsoft's Commercial Business Division emphasized that this strategic move is designed to accelerate the adoption of Copilot and motivate enterprises to upgrade more employees to the E5 version. Previously, Microsoft has incorporated AI capabilities into its Office software suite and increased prices for upgraded products by 65% to entice enterprise users. Over the past year, Microsoft has invested more than $100 billion in data center infrastructure, and selling AI-related products has emerged as a pivotal avenue for the company to capitalize on its investments. For customers opting for the E7 package or subscribing to Copilot independently, Microsoft will introduce the Copilot Cowork feature, which will be accessible for research preview to customers in the Microsoft Frontier program this month. At present, the growth rate of Microsoft's commercial customer subscription users has decelerated, and the company is maximizing revenue per commercial user through various strategies, including Copilot. Analysts from a technology industry research institution highlighted that the software included in the E7 package holds immense value for large enterprises in securely deploying AI tools and boosting productivity. The Jefferies analyst team also reaffirmed its buy rating for Microsoft's stock.
