On February 11, 2026, Jimmy Ba, co-founder of xAI, announced his departure, marking the second founding member to leave within 48 hours following the resignation of another co-founder, Yuhuai Wu, on February 10. Jimmy Ba previously oversaw most of xAI's business operations, a role that had been divided by the end of last year. Yuhuai Wu was a key figure in xAI's mathematical reasoning and symbolic AI domains, leading the development of Grok's large model reasoning capabilities. With these departures, six of the 12 co-founders who established xAI have now left the company.
