According to Gizmochina, OpenAI plans to launch its first AI-powered consumer hardware product, Dime, in 2026. This is a screenless audio wearable device, similar in appearance to wireless earbuds, focusing on a 'quiet, low-interference' interactive experience. Due to the high cost of 2nm chips caused by HBM shortages, OpenAI has adjusted its product strategy by first releasing a simplified version of the earbuds with pure audio functionality, and later launching an advanced version once component costs decrease.
