On Tuesday, Pinterest revealed its intention to lay off up to 15% of its workforce and scale down office spaces, marking a decisive move into the realm of artificial intelligence (AI). The job cuts are projected to be finalized by the end of the third quarter, around late September. The social media giant emphasized its commitment to channeling resources into its core AI division, prioritizing the development of AI-powered products and technological innovations as central pillars of growth. Concurrently, it will revamp its sales and marketing approaches. Pinterest forecasts that this organizational overhaul will result in pre-tax costs ranging from $35 million to $45 million.
