In an article, Jin Rongcan, who serves as the Head of Asia Technology Industry Research at Morgan Stanley, highlighted that embodied intelligence (physical intelligence) is emerging as a central pillar within the artificial intelligence (AI) landscape. The crux, he emphasized, lies in seamlessly integrating AI with the physical realm. He posits that humanoid robots are poised to spearhead industrial advancements and redefine the future of human-machine interaction. Their success, he notes, hinges on a sprawling, interconnected ecosystem encompassing technologies, industries, and supply chains.

Morgan Stanley forecasts that by 2050, the humanoid robot market will soar to a staggering US$5 trillion, with a deployment scale of 1 billion units — translating to one robot for every 10 individuals. However, the widespread adoption of humanoid robots is anticipated to follow a non-linear trajectory. The initial phase, extending up to 2035, is expected to witness a relatively sluggish uptake, followed by a marked acceleration in the late 2030s.
