On Wednesday, Shyam Sankar, the Chief Technology Officer of data analysis firm Palantir, asserted that artificial intelligence (AI) is sparking a productivity surge among blue-collar workers, rather than causing the widespread job losses forecast by Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders. Sankar underscored that AI is actually propelling hiring, training initiatives, and industrial expansion across the United States. He highlighted that AI's advantages extend beyond software developers, reaching frontline employees like intensive care unit nurses and factory technicians. Take, for example, a manufacturing company that harnessed AI to optimize production scheduling, enabling the addition of a third shift. Similarly, Panasonic Energy employed AI technology to slash the apprenticeship duration for battery technicians from three years to a mere three months.
