TikTok has revealed that its monthly active user base in Japan has now exceeded 42 million, marking a remarkable twofold surge over the past three years as of November 2022. This June, TikTok rolled out its e-commerce feature, TikTok Shop, in the Japanese market. A mere four months post-launch, its Gross Merchandise Volume (GMV) has soared by an impressive 20-fold. At present, over 480,000 Japanese enterprises have opted to promote their products and services on TikTok, with the platform actively fostering the commercial growth of these businesses through tailored marketing services. The General Manager of TikTok for Business Japan emphasized that the platform stands at the nexus of three pivotal growth trends: artificial intelligence, short-form video content, and an omnichannel approach.
