On November 20, 2025, the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region announced the 'Conceptual Framework for the Development Plan of Innovation and Technology Sectors in San Tin Technopole'. This document delineates the overarching blueprint for the area, encompassing the development vision, goals, strategic positioning, industrial spatial distribution, and operational model for the 210-hectare innovation and technology hub within San Tin Technopole.
Located adjacent to the Hong Kong Section of the Lok Ma Chau Loop, San Tin Technopole enjoys seamless connectivity with the innovation and technology ecosystems of Futian and Huanggang. Spanning approximately 210 hectares, this new innovation and technology hub is endowed with an outstanding transportation infrastructure and a pristine ecological setting.
The development plan is geared towards transforming San Tin Technopole into a pivotal strategic base for innovation and technology industries. It will offer dedicated spaces for prototyping, pilot-scale testing, and small-volume mass production, thereby nurturing high-caliber local innovation and technology enterprises. Additionally, the plan aims to attract global innovation and technology resources and talent. Upon reaching full operational capacity, it is anticipated that the Technopole will annually contribute a minimum of HK$250 billion to Hong Kong's Gross Domestic Product and generate over 300,000 full-time employment opportunities in related sectors.
