Yesterday, Alibaba took the lead among Chinese tech companies by unveiling the inaugural 'AI for Good Action Report 2025'. This report articulates a vision of 'AI for Good', underscoring the potential to harmoniously integrate technology, business, and social value. It advocates for the seamless incorporation of 'AI for Good' principles throughout the technological evolution process. The report introduces a 'people-first' action framework, anchored in six core values.
Several Alibaba executives shared their insights. Liu Zhenfei, referencing initiatives like the anti-human trafficking 'Reunion' system, highlighted that 'benevolence' should serve as the 'foremost principle' in AI development. Sun Lijun contended that the essence of AI for Good lies in human kindness, necessitating the cultivation of a 'compassionate mindset' for AI.
Teams such as Kuake and the Damo Academy have already initiated numerous 'AI for Good' projects, with the Alibaba Cloud team prioritizing sustainable development. A senior executive from Alibaba Group remarked that 'AI for Good' is instrumental in building trust and propelling the AI industry forward, acting as a key driver of progress.
Furthermore, Alibaba established a Technology Ethics Governance Committee in 2022, and several business units have implemented relevant organizational safeguards to ensure ethical AI practices.
