According to GitHub's 'Octoverse 2025' report, by 2030, India is projected to have over 57.5 million software developers. This figure will not only eclipse the United States' anticipated 54.7 million but also establish India as the global leader in this field. At present, the United States holds the top spot with 28 million developers. However, India is witnessing a swift surge in its developer population. This growth is attributed to government - sponsored technology training initiatives and the development of AI - powered tools for local language programming. It is estimated that India will add a staggering 35.6 million developers to its existing pool. Moreover, both Brazil and China are also on track to experience substantial growth in their developer communities, with the numbers expected to reach 19.6 million and 17.7 million, respectively.
