Microsoft has made an announcement: the Copilot app tailored for Windows 11 now fully supports the voice wake command, "Hey Copilot". Beyond the traditional method of launching it through the Alt + Tab shortcut, users can now effortlessly activate the voice - assistant feature by simply uttering this command. Once the conversation concludes, a simple "goodbye" from the user will suffice. And if no further actions are taken within a few seconds, Copilot will automatically shut down. This functionality is now accessible to all Windows 11 users. Initially, it was only available to internal testers back in May of this year.

To make use of the voice function, users are required to have a microphone and a stable internet connection. In the meantime, Microsoft has also launched the Copilot Vision feature across all markets where Copilot services are provided. This innovative feature is capable of, among other things, analyzing the content displayed on the screen.

Moreover, Microsoft is in the process of developing a "Text - in Text - out" feature. This new addition will facilitate text - based interaction when in Vision mode. The Chief Marketing Officer of Microsoft's Consumer Division has expressed that this development will streamline interactions, making them even more seamless and effortless. It's worth noting that the voice wake function for Copilot on Windows is disabled by default. Users have the option to manually enable it in the settings.
