A-Shares' Three Major Indices Open in the Red; Weite New Materials Plummets Over 9%

On June 5, 2026, A-shares' three major indices experienced a collective lower opening. The Shanghai Composite Index dipped by 0.32%, the Shenzhen Component Index slid by 0.42%, and the ChiNext Index declined by 0.22%. Leading the downward trend were the semiconductor, computer hardware, and coal sectors. Notably, Weite New Materials witnessed a sharp drop of over 9%, Jiangbo Long fell by more than 5%, and Jinkong Coal Industry declined by over 2%. On the flip side, the energy equipment, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical sectors emerged as the top gainers. Staidson Biopharma and Menovo Pharmaceutical both surged over 4%, while Jereh Group climbed more than 3%.
