On August 7, foreign media outlets revealed that Tesla had convened with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) last week in response to the investigation initiated on July 1st. During this meeting, NHTSA pressed Tesla to disclose information pertaining to its autonomous taxi program. It is noted that NHTSA officials had the opportunity to experience Tesla's autonomous taxis in Austin last month. Prior to this, Tesla's autonomous taxi tests encountered issues such as excessive speed and sudden braking, prompting NHTSA to launch an investigation. Additionally, Tesla is currently embroiled in a shareholder lawsuit, accused of concealing the risks associated with its autonomous driving technology and being suspected of securities fraud, which has contributed to a decline in its share prices.
