On the afternoon of August 6, a self-driving vehicle operated by Luobo Kuaipao, Baidu Apollo's autonomous driving travel service platform, fell into a municipal construction trench in Yongchuan District, Chongqing. Part of the vehicle remained trapped in the pit. Videos from the incident revealed that a female passenger was safely extricated from the vehicle with the help of staff and bystanders. Luobo Kuaipao has been serving passengers in Yongchuan, Chongqing, for several years. The cause of the accident is still being investigated, and no official response has been issued as of yet.
