Toyota Motor Corporation announced on Thursday a revision of its operating profit forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2026, downsizing it from 3.8 trillion yen to 3.2 trillion yen (approximately $21.7 billion), marking a 16% decrease. The company cited anticipated US tariffs as the primary reason behind this reduction, expecting them to slash full-year profits by approximately 1.4 trillion yen (around $9.5 billion). Prior to this announcement, Toyota had estimated a loss of 180 billion yen due to tariffs from April to May, but this marks the first time it has provided a comprehensive full-year impact forecast.
