Lixiang One has released an official statement in response to the safety collision test conducted on its Lixiang i8 model. During its development, the Lixiang i8 incorporated a "short front overhang safety structure" design, aimed at maximizing passenger space while simultaneously enhancing passive safety features. This rigorous test was administered by the China Automotive Engineering Research Institute, a highly respected third-party authority. The results indicate that following the collision, the A, B, and C pillars of the Lixiang i8 remained intact with no significant deformation. The airbags deployed as expected, and there were no instances of battery pack leakage or fire. Additionally, the doors automatically unlocked, demonstrating the vehicle's overall robust safety performance. Lixiang One underscores that this test was solely intended to validate its product's performance and was not meant to target or compare with other brands. Furthermore, the company clarifies that the Dongfeng Liuzhou Automobile Chenglong truck used in the test served solely as a collision barrier and was not evaluated for its quality. The Lixiang i8 was developed in strict adherence to the latest national standards and industry evaluation protocols, encompassing a wide range of internal testing conditions. Notably, all Lixiang One models have consistently received top marks in third-party evaluations.
