The Wall Street Journal reports that the U.S. government has encountered significant challenges in disentangling itself from SpaceX, the aerospace company helmed by Elon Musk. Following initial indications of a possible business separation from SpaceX in early June, the Trump administration embarked on a comprehensive review of SpaceX's federal contracts, with the objective of identifying potential inefficiencies in billions of dollars worth of agreements. Nonetheless, the review revealed that the majority of these contracts are indispensable to the Department of Defense and NASA, making it impractical to terminate them. This realization underscores SpaceX's preeminent status as a global pioneer in rocket launches and a key provider of satellite internet services.
