On July 14, data released by the Ministry of Public Security revealed that by the close of June 2025, the total count of motor vehicles in China had reached 460 million. Notably, among these, 36.89 million were new energy vehicles (NEVs), constituting 10.27% of the overall fleet. During the first six months of the year, an impressive 5.622 million NEVs were newly registered, marking a year-on-year growth of 27.86%. This figure represents a record high and accounts for 44.97% of all newly registered vehicles. Within the category of NEVs, pure electric vehicles (PEVs) dominated with 25.539 million units, accounting for 69.23% of the total NEV registrations.
