Chew Men Leong, Singapore's Acting Minister of Transport, headed a delegation to Pony.ai's Guangzhou R&D center, where both parties engaged in detailed discussions about the evolution of China's autonomous driving technology and its planned implementation in Singapore. Peng Jun, CEO of Pony.ai, announced that the company aims to trial its seventh-generation Robotaxi in Singapore this year, contributing to the nation's efforts to establish a smart urban transportation system. Additionally, Singapore's ComfortDelGro is contemplating the introduction of a small-scale autonomous taxi service to ease manpower and vehicle supply constraints. Currently, the two entities have collaborated on a joint autonomous ride-hailing service project in Guangzhou, aiming to expedite the commercialization of Robotaxi services.
