On June 9, Waymo, the autonomous driving subsidiary of Google, announced the suspension of its services in downtown Los Angeles. Recently, anti-deportation protests have erupted in the city, with some demonstrators summoning Waymo vehicles and subsequently vandalizing them. In response to these multiple incidents of vehicle damage and to prioritize safety, Waymo has decided to temporarily cease operations. The exact timing for the resumption of services will be announced at a later date.
