Tesla's foray into the autonomous taxi market is set to commence in Austin, Texas, later this month. Austin has emerged as a pivotal arena for the competition in autonomous driving technology. Tesla CEO Elon Musk disclosed on platform X that the company has conducted tests of Model Y vehicles in Austin without safety drivers on board. Tesla intends to commence operations with an initial fleet of 10 vehicles, with plans to gradually scale up to thousands of autonomous taxis and expand into additional cities should the initial launch prove successful.
