On May 31, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) launched an initiative aimed at preserving fair competition and fostering the sustainable growth of the automotive industry. The initiative highlighted that a recent steep price reduction by a prominent automaker had triggered a ripple effect across numerous enterprises, fueling a chaotic price war. In response, CAAM urges all enterprises to uphold the principles of fair competition, conduct business in compliance with the law, refrain from engaging in predatory pricing (selling goods below cost price), and eschew misleading propaganda that disrupts market harmony and jeopardizes the interests of the industry and consumers.
