Between May 1st and 18th, nationwide retail sales of passenger cars soared to 932,000 units, marking a 12% increase from the same period last year. New energy vehicles (NEVs) performed even more impressively, with sales reaching 484,000 units, up 32% year-on-year, and achieving a market penetration rate of 52%. Since the start of this year, cumulative retail sales of passenger cars have hit 7.804 million units, up 8%, while cumulative sales of NEVs have reached 3.808 million units, representing a 35% increase.
