On May 18, Guan Zhao, Deputy Director of the Transport Service Department at the Ministry of Transport, disclosed that 98% of service areas along national highways now feature charging facilities. This includes 6,527 service areas equipped with charging parking spaces, totaling 35,000 charging stations and 51,000 charging parking spots. Looking ahead, the Ministry of Transport will actively adhere to the guidelines issued by 10 departments on the integrated development of transportation and energy. Relying on significant projects such as the new land-sea corridor in the west, the Jiangmen Foreign Trade Channel, and the expansion and reconstruction of national highway mainlines, the Ministry aims to establish a near-zero-emission transportation corridor model. Concurrently, it will guide local authorities to leverage advantageous scenarios like port short-haul and branch line short-haul transportation, as well as trunk freight lines with fixed routes and vehicle types, to steadily implement the electric heavy truck power separation mode and new energy heavy truck transportation pilot programs. This initiative seeks to explore new scenarios and models for the application of new energy heavy trucks.
