Waymo has announced the recall of 1,200 self-driving vehicles, citing minor collisions with road objects such as gates. This recall followed a software update implemented at the end of last year, with the necessary documentation submitted to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). As reported by Reuters, Waymo, a subsidiary of Alphabet Inc., noted in the submitted documents that the decision to recall specific versions of its autonomous driving software was made by the safety committee to comply with regulatory reporting requirements.
