Battery Alliance: China's Power Battery Installation Volume Surges 52.8% YoY in April, Reaching 54.1GWh

On May 12, the Innovation Alliance for New Energy Vehicle Industry, a division of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, released data revealing that China's power battery installation volume in April amounted to 54.1GWh. This figure represents a decrease of 4.3% from the previous month but a substantial increase of 52.8% compared to April of the previous year. Specifically, the installation of ternary batteries stood at 9.3GWh, constituting 17.2% of the total volume, which was a decline of 7.0% month-on-month and 6.3% year-on-year. Conversely, lithium iron phosphate batteries saw an installation volume of 44.8GWh, accounting for 82.8% of the total, experiencing a marginal monthly drop of 3.8% but a robust annual increase of 75.9%. From January to April of this year, China's cumulative power battery installation volume reached 184.3GWh, marking a 52.8% year-on-year growth.
