The Indian government intends to gradually eliminate the use of pure diesel and gasoline vehicles in Delhi and its vicinity, favoring electric, hybrid, and CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) models instead. Commencing at the end of 2025, new bus registrations will exclusively cater to clean fuel vehicles, with three-wheelers and light trucks adopting this measure in 2026 or 2027. Commercial taxis will benefit from a more extended transition period, whereas private cars and two-wheelers are expected to complete the shift between 2030 and 2035 at the latest.
