During the afternoon session of the high-level forum at the China Electric Vehicle Hundred People Forum (2025) on March 29, Gou Ping, a member of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) of the State Council, unveiled a tailored assessment plan for central state-owned enterprises in the automotive sector. Notably, this plan includes a distinct evaluation for the new energy vehicle (NEV) business. It acknowledges the operational losses incurred during the strategic investment phase while emphasizing the assessment of technological advancements, product development, and market share enhancement. This strategic shift is intended to incentivize enterprises to bolster their innovation endeavors and elevate the competitiveness of their products. Currently, central state-owned automotive enterprises are witnessing promising advancements in these critical areas.
