On March 29, Beijing hosted the 2025 China EV100 Forum, where officials from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) announced that China's new energy vehicle (NEV) market has achieved a milestone, surpassing 10 million units in annual production for the first time. This accomplishment represents 65% of the global total, cementing China's position as the world leader for a decade. To further propel the high-quality development of NEVs, China will adopt the following five strategic measures:

• Enhance Support Policies: Strengthen and broaden industrial competitive edges through refined policy support.
• Accelerate Technological R&D: Intensify research and development of core components, including key materials for power batteries, automotive chips, and high-efficiency hybrid engines.
• Advance Autonomous Driving: Promote pilot projects for intelligent connected vehicles, refine relevant standards, and conditionally authorize the production of L3 autonomous driving models.
• Stimulate Consumption: Formulate and execute new growth strategies for the automotive industry, coupled with policies encouraging the trade-in of old cars for new ones.
• Digital Transformation: Continue fostering the gradual development of smart factories and enhance the digital collaborative transformation of the industrial and supply chains.
